Graduate Students

Mahnoor Zahid
Mahnoor began her PhD in Aug 2024, after her graduation from DePauw University with a B.A in Neuroscience. She’s interested in the neural circuits and neuromodulatory mechanisms underlying fear, learning and aggression that may contribute to psychiatric illnesses like anxiety and PTSD.

Ricardo Aguilar-Alvarez
Ricardo joined the lab in the May 2023 as a technician, before returning to the lab as a graduate student in Feb. 2025. He is interested in how Acetylcholine modulates generalization in the ACC and mechanisms of context-dependent generalization.
Research Technicians

Chadwick Frost
Chadwick graduated from Furman University in May 2024 with a B.S. in Neuroscience, joining the Jasnow Lab in Oct. 2024. He is interested in researching the neural mechanisms underlying stress and anxiety disorders, and how Acetylcholine modulates fear learning in the Amygdala.
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate training is a core focus in the Jasnow Lab. Our Undergraduates are an essential part of our research team. They not only help with general lab functions but also manage mouse lines, perform experiments, and present data at local, national, and international conferences. Many of our previous undergraduates are currently enrolled in graduate or medical school.

Brennan Ottone
Brennan is a sophomore at UofSC pursuing a B.S. in Neuroscience. He joined the lab in the fall of 2024 and plans to attend medical school after graduation.
